This is a question we are asked probably more than any other, so we thought it would be helpful to put together some information to help you decide.
What size you buy really depends on how high your ceiling is, the size of area you want to cover, the number of people at your event and the effect you want to achieve.
Firstly, some basic information; At Confetti Master our confetti cannons are available in three sizes – 30cm, 50cm and 80cm and the distance the cannons will fire confetti is as follows;
• 30cm cannon will fire approx. 5 metres
• 50cm cannon will fire approx. 8 metres
• 80cm cannon will fire approx. 12 metres
Confetti looks at its best when fired into the air and has room to flutter down slowly, therefore you need to have enough height and space to allow this to happen. The distances above are just a guide as the confetti cannons produce a cloud of confetti over an area, of course you generally don’t fire the cannons vertically up and it will depend on the angle you aim at as to how high or far the confetti will go.
As well as considering the distance it is also worth noting that the bigger the cannon the more confetti it contains. The 80cm contains approx. 1/8 Kilo of confetti, the 50cm about a third less and the 30cm about a third less again. Your room or occasion may be suited to the larger cannons fired high in the air, or perhaps it would be better to have the smaller cannons but more of them.
As a guide we normally recommend the 50cm confetti cannon for a marquee or similar (we sell a lot for weddings), 80cm confetti cannon for a large stage or ballroom with a high ceiling. The 30cm confetti cannon is ideal for a small party, such as gender reveal, with friends and family.
